On Moving, Moving On

A college kid helping kids and others

Here’s an online resource you might want to check out.  I recommend going to the “At Home & After School” tab.  Click on “Games & Tools” and there you’ll find things like an Interactive Geometry Dictionary, National Geographic Atlas, Circle Grapher, Essay Map, and a whole lot more.  These are interesting and fun tools that make learning easier.

There’s a whole lot more to this website as well for parents and kid.

Quoting from website: “Internet 4 Classrooms (“i4c”), is a free web portal designed to assist anyone who wants to find high-quality, free Internet resources to use in classroom instruction, developing project ideas, reinforcing specific subject matter areas both in the class and at home and even for online technology tutorials. The portal is used by teachers, parents and students of all ages…”

This site can help you in subjects like Math, History, Science, Statistics, and more.  You can fine tune your area of interest in each subject by clicking on the many options they provide.  Video and audios are available as well as text taken from a variety of textbook resources.

Incredible free online encyclopedia loaded with information.
Includes a featured article of the day, current events, and interesting facts about the current date now and years back.
For easy look-up on many subjects, portals are broken down into categories like History, Math, Science, etc.

This site allows you to translate from English to Spanish or Spanish to English and gives you the dictionary meaning.   It can pronouce the words for you which is very helpful.  You can also enter a sentence or phrase to translate.  You can even learn Spanish with free video lessons.

This is so cool!  You can type a word, a sentence, a paragraph (actually up to 2,000 characters at once) in English and it will get translated into the language of your choice!  You can also go the other way, from a different language to English, or whatever!

Be sure to use it as an aide, not a crutch!

Most of you older kids know this, but some of my younger audience may not.  Here’s a great tool that’s quick & easy to use for everyone.

  1. Dear Nicholas-

Thank you for sending me a copy of your book and for listing mine in your resource section of it.

Congratulations on taking action and making it happen. I will share your story with others as an example of someone who is stepping up as a leader and making a difference in the lives of others.

    All the best,
